About Turley Associates Turley Associates is the UK’s leading independent planning and urban design consultancy, operating nationally, regionally and locally from a network of nine offices. The company provides urban design, masterplanning and regeneration advice for all scales of development with the added value of national knowledge informed by local expertise. Our interdisciplinary approach provides an integrated planning and urban design service that aims to deliver truly sustainable solutions. We currently have 180 members of staff, which includes more than 30 urban designers.
Services offered Urban Design We aim to create successful places with significant added value. Our core areas of work include the production of urban design frameworks, development briefs, design statements and public realm strategies. Master Planning We have the capability to creatively address the production of spatial strategies for town centre, brownfield and greenfield sites. Urban Regeneration We have a specialist team, experienced in the delivery of sustainable regeneration to improve the vitality of towns and cities through a dynamic mix of uses, buildings and spaces. Our team can provide regeneration briefs, regeneration strategies, community involvement initiatives and project implementation strategies.
Featured projects: DANETREE VILLAGE | DANETREE CONSORTIUM  Creation of a strategic masterplan framework to create a truly sustainable urban extension to Daventry that will be integrated with the established town and its hinterland and will play a significant role in the future growth and prosperity of the area. Turley Associates’ Role: - Advice on strategy and scheme advocacy.

WIRRAL WATERS|BIRKENHEAD | PEEL HOLDINGS  Overall Planning and Urban Design Strategy and preparation of a Strategic Regeneration Framework for one of the largest brownfield regeneration projects in the UK. Wirral Waters is a mixed use development opportunity on 500 acres of existing and former docks, wharfs and warehousing land. Turley Associates’ Role: - Planning and Urban Design Strategy
- Assembling and project managing a specialist team including architects, transport, environmental, culture and leisure, heritage and socio-economic consultants.
- Progression of a Strategic Regeneration Framework and constituent parts, including preparation of a Draft Baseline Study and work towards a Refreshed and Expanded Vision and Development Framework.
- Integrated planning, design and regeneration approach to take forward the delivery of initial visioning concepts.
- Liaison with Local Authority and other Stakeholders.
- Representations on emerging planning and economic development policy, to ensure recognition and facilitation of the opportunity.
Results: - Planning Strategy formulated and agreed with key stakeholders, bringing a robust and logical process and route map through to the delivery of the project.
- Consultation with stakeholders to ensure wide level of support/involvement and agreement of strategic context and opportunity.
- First Draft Baseline Study prepared March 2007.
